How to Power Slide Stop on In-Line Skates
- 1). Lean into a fairly sharp turn from a high speed.
- 2). Extend your outside leg, placing it almost on its side, with your wheels still touching the ground.
- 3). Turn your inside skate 90 degrees so that your heel is perpendicular to your outside skate.
- 4). Shift your weight entirely to your outside skate. This is the key element to the power slide stop.
- 5). Slide to a stop, balancing on your inside skate as it rolls along with the slide.
- 6). Transfer your weight back to your inside skate to begin skating again in the opposite direction.
