How to Make Wine Jelly for Holiday Gifts

    • 1). Mix wine and sugar in top of a double boiler over rapidly boiling water.

    • 2). Cook wine and sugar mixture, stirring constantly. About 3 minutes until sugar is complete dissolved.

    • 3). Remove the hot double boiler from the stove. With the jelly still over the hot water, stir in liquid pectin and mix well.

    • 4). Remove foam on top of hot jelly with a metal spoon.

    • 5). Quickly ladle into hot, sterilized wine glasses or dessert dishes. Do not fill completely; leave a 1/2 inch at the top for a paraffin wax seal.

    • 6). Once the jelly has cooled and set, seal with thin layer of paraffin.

    • 7). This yields about 4 half pint glasses.
