Teen Fashion Guide for Winter
- Sweaters are a wise investment that will serve you well during the winter season. Choose ones in high quality fabrics that are durable and dye fast. Teens look great in wool or cotton V-neck sweaters, cable-knit sweaters and crew-neck sweaters. Choose fabrics like cashmere or mohair if you want a sweater that has superior shine, is really soft and shows off your shape. Alpine sweaters in colors that complement the skin tone look great on both genders. Sweater tunics, graphic sweaters, cardigans and sweater vests are other good choices that will insulate you from the cold. Layer a sweater over a turtleneck in a complementary color to keep cold at bay.
- Just because there is snow on the ground, doesn’t mean you can’t have a bit of swagger in your step. Surrender your favorite flip flops for a pair of boots that make you look cool and keep your feet warm. Depending on your style and the particular weather in your geographic area, there are loads of choices. Some trendy teen favorites include moccasin boots, knee high boots, shearling lined boots, suede boots with fringes and leather boots. Other choices include knee high riding boots, hiking boots, Uggs and biker boots. Choose boots that are comfortable, but also reflect your personality and your sense of style.
- If you are shopping for a jacket, check out the latest jackets inspired by aviators. Think hip-length shearling lined leather jackets, waist-length denim or leather bomber jackets lined with faux fur and sheepskin biker jackets. Or if you aren’t into the aviator trend, consider a puffy quilted coat, wool blend pea coat, wool blend baby doll coat, long fleece pea coat or faux fur lined utility jackets. If you are in a geographic area that doesn’t get bitter cold during the winter, keep warm on chilly days with blanket coats, hooded ponchos, flannel or cotton capes, hooded sweater coats and shawl collar ponchos. And if you are planning on enjoying the outdoors, bundle up with a ski jacket and snowpants.
- As a teen, embrace your age by wearing funky whimsical accessories. Choose hats in bright colors that have stripes, animal prints, polka dots or other designs that appeal to you. Some styles that teens are wearing include cable knit hats, tweed fedoras, trapper hats, pom-pom hats and crochet mushroom hats. Or if you prefer ear muffs over hats, there are many styles that teens will love. Some choices include crochet earmuffs, heart shaped earmuffs, strawberry shaped earmuffs, animal shaped ear muffs, winter plaid earmuffs, or faux fur sequined earmuffs for a touch of glitz.
